Second Floor Lobby

This exhibit in the second floor lobby explored cultural, political, and social themes in Alabama in the decade after 1965. It featured vintage textiles and encouraged visitors to consider donating materials from the period to the ADAH’s collections. The exhibit served as a compliment to the ADAH’s two-day symposium held in mid-August 2016 which featured expert speakers and panel discussions on a wide variety of topics from the period including school integration, student protests, changing roles of women, African Americans in politics, and more.
