On Saturday October 8, 2005 Dave Neel, on behalf of the 33rd Alabama Infantry (re-enactors) presented ADAH Curator Bob Bradley with a $2000.00 donation for the flag conservation fund. The 33rd Alabama Infantry had been invited to participate in the "West Wing Fling," the grand opening of the Archive's new addition. This unit of reenactors has shown continous support for the flag conservation program since it began in 1989. Since then 14 flags have been conserved. The most recent flag to be treated is that of the Wilcox True Blues (Co I-K 1st Alabama Infantry). The flag is currently at the conservators in Keedysville Maryland and is due to be completed in the near future. |
For more information about these and other Alabama Regimental Flags, please contact curator Robert Bradley at 334-353-4696 or bob.bradley@archives.alabama.gov.
