Provenance Reconstruction:

The date of donation and donor of this fragment are unknown. The fragment consists of one red and one white stripe sewn together. On August 17, 1990, Fonda Thomsen of Textile Preservation Associates, Inc. examined the fragment. At that time, she determined that there was reason to doubt that this fragment was from a Civil War period flag.
