Won four hill climbs in a row in his Mini and graduated to a Porsche 911S. 1969, left hill climbing and started circuit racing in a Formula Vee. Drove in Formula Two races. 1971, at the Austrian Grand Prix, made his Formula One debut. 1972, went Grand Prix racing and came in 11th at the Formula One championship in 1975, 1977 and 1984.
