1956 credited with the first Indy roadster. Teamed with Foyt in 1960, and in 1961 and 1964 won the Indianapolis 500. Won the USAC Championship three times in four years. USAC Mechanic of the Year in 1962, and in 1965 achieved international fame as the man who Americanized Lotus. Bignotti and Unser ran season in wedge-shaped, part Lola, part Lotus, and part Bignotti car, those ideas went into the Colt chassis. USA Championship Trail's single season record for victories is 10, each time George Bignotti was the mechanic.
