the Southern army. March 1861.
Born, 1829, St. Wendel, Germany,
He came to U.S. (Alabama) in 1849
to continue professionally in art.
Noted portraits: Jefferson Davis,
other Confederates; Lincoln and
other Presidents. In 1873 he came
to Louisville where he died, 1917.
