In 1959, the Opp Jaycees organized the first Rattlesnake Rodeo. Held annually every year since 1964, the event attracts thousands to Opp in early April to enjoy musical performances and a karaoke and songwriter's contest, to select beauty pageant winners, to browse arts and crafts, and to visit displays of rattlesnakes.
