Trekking Through History Traveling Backpacks
Trekking through History Traveling Backpacks are outreach tools for teachers to borrow to supplement the classroom learning experience. Each backpack corresponds with the Alabama Course of Study: Social Studies and includes an assortment of learning tools, such as:
- Touch-its
- Cross-curricula activity sheets emphasizing math, science, and writing
- Primary sources
- Games
- Multi-media resources, such as CDs and DVDs. A CD with the digital files of many of the activities is also included for teachers to keep.
The backpacks are available in six themes:

Packs are available on a first come first served basis and are loaned out for one week from Friday to Friday. Only one pack per teacher can be reserved at a time. The teacher is required to pay half of UPS shipping, which is $10.00. Pick-up of a backpack is free.
